With the recent favourable review of E Cigarettes by the Action on Smoking and Health (ASH) in the United Kingdom, more health specialists around the world are endorsing the device as a viable and less damaging alternative to real tobacco products. But the topic in general is proving to be rather puzzling to smokers as well as non due to the amount of propaganda anti-smoking groups are releasing into the public domain.
Nicotine is addictive, but so is caffeine and almost ninety percent of the population in the western world takes some form of caffeine each day. Nevertheless, these anti-smoking groups are being rather hypocritical when they voice their opinions that E Cigarettes should be outlawed and therefore taken out of the public domain, but would themselves never consider giving up their daily dose of “addictive” caffeine!
The E Cigarette is slowly but surely finding its place amongst those who want something less harmful, as well as those attempting to kick the habit - a habit that does kill millions and millions of people across the world each and every year. Before the E Cigarette come to the fore, smokers had to make do with a very limited choice of gum or rather pricey nicotine patches to assist them in their efforts to kick the habit. Quite a few more people fell for scams and “magic pill” solutions that obviously didn’t work and were only designed to take people’s money from them. Because many of these “solutions” were just not effective, many continued on their self-destruction journey of continuing to smoke or use real tobacco.
But over the past three or four years, smokers are being won over by the E Cigarette phenomenon – and there are many reasons for this. First of all, they can effectively get their “fix” of nicotine. Second, they don’t offend anybody with any second-hand smoke. And third they are happy in the knowledge that they are not filling their lungs with a cocktail of poisonous chemicals.
The sister of actor Johnny Depp, Debbie Depp Rassel, recently contacted an E Cigarette company in Southlake, Texas going by the name of SS Choice and told them about her and her mother’s problems with trying to quit smoking tobacco, as well as the fact that doctors had told her mother that she had to stop smoking. This had transpired because Johnny Depp himself had apparently suggested to his mother to try out E Cigarettes. The reason for this is the fact that Johnny lives in the UK, and E Cigarettes are extensively used in the country.
The Depp’s mother did indeed take up E Cigarettes, and in a communiqué to the company owner, Johnny’s sister said that: “My mom is a different person since quitting; she doesn’t have to use breathing treatments anymore, and you have given us back our mom. In a billion years, I can’t thank you enough.”
It must be reiterated though that the E Cigarette has yet to be either tested or approved as the next stop smoking product, and as such, are not currently sold to these specifications, but testimonials and reports like Miss Rassel’s above are becoming more and more commonplace.
